D3d9.dll Problem with Nvidia - posted in Skyrim Mod Troubleshooting: Hi guys! I started modding Skyrim a few days and when I downloaded my first ENB the game didnt recognize my Nvidia target and the game run terrible with 7 fps.In Skyrimprefs appear the integrate target of the laptop Intel Hd graphics bla bla bla, same as in the Launcher settings.I tried to put it manually in Nvidia control. If you are launching the game with skyrim4GB, then yes, it is actually using the 4gb injector. What the steps in the Op's post allow you to do is to make sure that nVidia or ATI settings identify the skyrim app, which they might not if you run the skyrim4GB launcher as default.

So whenever I attempt to launch Skyrim, the launcher is completely unresponsive and I can't select any of the options (play, data files, options etc). This occurs when I install ENB. The version of ENB I'm using is 254, the wrapper version, and I've tried RealVision ENB, PureVision ENB, Insomnia ENB, and now River ENB. They've all had the same problem. Steps I've taken toward solving the problem include - Setting my SkyrimPrefs.ini to Read Only - Editing my vram total in enblocal.ini to 10240 (my ram and vram-2048) - Changing the reserved memory size to 1024 - Changed all AA, FXAA, and other settings in the nvidia control panel to application controlled for tesv.exe (no i'm not using skse) - used only the essential mods for the enb in question I've done a complete uninstall (including deleting all files left over by the Steam uninstall) and reinstall.
I also did some playing around with enb files, and the only time it locks up is when I remove d3d9.dll from the Skyrim root folder. Any idea what could be causing this issue? Ask me if I've left something out. I have this problem if I try to launch with the original skyrim launcher, which I sometimes do to reset my INI files to a clean state or to update some Steam mods. I simply remove the d3d9.dll from the skyrim directory, do what I need to do, then move it back. I use SKSE to launch my game and that works fine.
If you do not use SKSE, and only launch from the game launcher, I am not sure what the work around is. I had assumed on my end it had something do with the memory modifications (Sheshon's and enbboost) that caused it but since it is a none issue with SKSE I never looked into it further.
I have tried to use the SKSE launcher in the past, however it came up with the error 'Could not inject.dll'. However, this was before I completely reinstalled the game, so trying it again isn't a bad idea. I haven't tried to use the injector version at all, so if you mean that I have leftover files from trying to use it in the past, I don't. If not, what do you mean by enbseries.dll? The only.dll i've had for ENB is the d3d9.dll. I also don't have any overlays running (aside from Steam), but I'll try setting ForceFullScreenBorderless to false.
